Mack builds an effective argument that convinces the college freshmen class that Shakespeare is worth the effort to read though his use of rhetorical devices such as ethos and rhetorical questions. Shakespeare isn't back-breaking work but it's still challenging to read, and it’s not very beneficial when you read it the first time, but the more you read it you will soon see why teachers want you to be able to clarify what you are reading to better understand it. Why should you really read Shakespeare?
