Holy canoli!! Wow, this year has blown by like a leaf falling from a tree! It all started when the clock struck 2:15, on the last day of school, of fifth grade. I was beyond excited to finally be in middle school! The summer was sadly coming to an end. Of course that meant school had to start. My emotions about being in middle school started to change. I started freaking out and had so many questions about what to do on the first day. My thoughts scrambled around in my head. There were some things I was excited about though, I was really looking forward to all of the activities I would get to do and how much freedom I would receive, unlike I had in elementary school.
Wednesday, September second had arrived. It was the first day of school. Waking up at six in the morning was definitely not exciting for me. A girl needs her beauty sleep! My mind went crazy as I waited for the bus to come. I thought about what kinds of kids would be on my bus, would they topple over my tiny self and be mean. Everyone receives so much freedom! For example, you don’t have to walk in straight lines anymore, having a line leader and caboose. Furthermore, during lunch I am able to eat in teachers classrooms and/or sit at any lunch table. Next, the whole middle school gets a use of a locker. There are no more desks that anyone can open and steal from. Also, you can stay late after school without worrying about having a note from your parents or a ride home. There are late buses that come at 3:30 to pick students up! Lastly, students get the trust of walking through the halls during class time by themselves as long as they have a hallway pass. The freedom middle school gave me definitely made middle school better than elementary
