The Mikes Bikes simulation process was a very interesting, but also very challenging experience. I attempted to balance the amount of money that went into advertising, product development, branding, etc. I also had to manage capacity and price, as well as loans and other management. I found this surprisingly harder than I initial thought it would be. It was difficult for me to figure out which was better; a high capacity with a low price, or a low capacity with a high price. I was attempting to do a high capacity and a high price at first, and that proved to have a very negative effect on my shareholder value. I did a lot of trial and error while doing this simulation, and the capacity and price was one of the main things I had to focus on.
