Military After High School?
Have you ever wondered what it would be like if every high school graduate were required to serve in the military? While mandatory service after high school may seem like an infringement of personal freedom, it's important to consider that it can also instill discipline, and build character. Not many people will be ready for the military mentally or physically after high school, but others will. Many people do not know what they want to do with their life after high school. Joining the military can give you time to think about what you want to do in life, while being able to pursue personal growth and manage adulthood. Members receive financial support for college tuition and other educational expenses. Easier said than done by some people, it is just not for them. People may not have the same mental state and aren't prepared for the military, not just mentally but physically. about eighty percent of young Americans are unfit to serve in the military. Having unwilling people in the military can make the forces less efficient. Instead of filling the military with people who do not want to be there, why not have people who volunteer to serve our country? Leaving high school and going straight to the military is a fast change. People have to adapt to a different life in a short period of time. For those individuals that aren't prepared, they can either grow up or leave the military with trauma if they have a difficult time. Although I understand some people are not prepared for the military fresh out of high school, I believe that the military is beneficial for your future and prepares you for the real world. Once your service is done, you will leave the military with educational opportunities. Even if you still don't know what you want
