Mindest and Grit are both based on the amount of determination a person has. Grit is defined as “sticking with things over a very long term until you master them”(Duckworth p15). In other words, Hanford explains that to be gritty means to be determined to do something a long period of time despite your failures. The main point of grit is consistency. An anecdote from my life that expresses a definition of being gritty is that since I was in the 2nd grade I was singing even if my voice was the best I still stayed back after choir rehearsal to improve .
