Mindful Eating Cycle Analysis

The textbook states that the 6 main decision points in the Mindful Eating Cycle include: ‘Why do I eat?’, ‘When Do I want to eat?’, ‘What do I eat?’, ‘How do I eat?’, ‘How much do I eat?’, and ‘Where do I invest my energy?’. When it comes to making these decisions, I personally think I follow the processes of Instinctive Eating. I eat to provide my body with energy, and to provide it with the needed fuel to proceed throughout the day. Eating breakfast in the morning provides me with the energy I need to efficiently complete my daily activities. I want to eat when I feel hungry, when I feel the need to fuel my body, or when it’s convenient. When it comes to what I eat, typically I eat whatever I want. However, I am a vegetarian. Eating is intentional for me, so usually I’ll have some time designated for it. How much I eat is dependent on how hungry I am. Therefore, I tend to eat a larger dinner after a busy day. I also relate primarily to that pattern because its logistics line up with my personal eating habits. After reading the details of “Restrictive Eating,” I don’t feel as though any of my eating habits relate to that pattern. I don’t count calories or follow rigorous food rules. As for the “Overeating” pattern, I don’t relate to that one, either. I don’t often binge or emotionally eat. I don’t associate any emotional power with eating, so I mainly relate to the “Instinctive Eating”
