The Importance of Diversity and Minority Student Success
The importance of diversity and minority student retention works collectively because of engagement of public, political and policy emergence currently changing in the United States. The United States has the highest number of educated people in the world of workforce, but we must not fail to recognize that all humans are included in this denominator when it comes to formulating the equation of education and the reassurance that the focus of education completion is not limited nor restrictive to one particular body or demographics of students (O’Neal, 2017). Research consistently shows that we learn more from people who are different from ourselves than we do from people who are much like us/akin.
6) Prepares students for future career success (Hyman, 2009). Having the ability to relate to people from different cultural backgrounds increases the potential for successful performance in today's diverse workforce, which requires sensitivity to human differences and today America's workforce is more diverse than it has ever been.
