The reason for the effect that Miracle Gro had on the Grasshead was because of the components that Miracle Gro is made of. One being nitrogen. Nitrogen is a key ingredient to chlorophyll which is a major part of photosynthesis. Without photosynthesis there would be no plant growth. Phosphate is another ingredient in Miracle Gro, phosphate helps a plant convert nutrients into building blocks that the grasshead can use to grow. Soluble Potash is yet another ingredient in Miracle Gro, it activates over 60 different enzyme processes in the plant. On top of that the potassium in Soluble Potash brings together the plant molecules in ways that promote healthy growth. The next component of Miracle Gro is Boron. Boron plays a big role …show more content…
One source of error in this experiment could be the oversaturation of a Grasshead. Over the weekends when extra Miracle Gro is added to the plants it could harm them because of toxic elements in the Miracle Gro. This goes the same with water in the case that you could drown it. Another error in this experiment could be measuring skills. If the ruler is not placed with 0 on the base of a grass slice you could have inaccurate measurements. One way to improve this experiment would be to have the students take home the Grassheads and water/Miracle Gro them themselves. This would be done so no days in the experiment are skipped and there is more accurate
