“Miriam” by Truman Capote is about an elderly widow suffering with a dwindling consciousness which affects her routine lifestyle. Mrs.H.T. Miller strays from her norms and decides to visit the movies.There she meets a young girl that shares the same first name as her. The narrator exposes the chaos young Miriam creates as she absurdly appears at Mrs. Miller's home disregarding her authority, property, and time. Mrs.Miller structured routine is challenged by these unwelcomed visits and she seeks help from a reluctant neighbor to remove the rude girl.
