In “Missing” by Celine geary, the author learns two valuable life lessons from her grandparents: family is everything and the importance of trust. When Celine Geary, the author, was younger her grandfather would always tell her that, “ family is all that matters.”(Geary 1). Her grandfather believed that family was an important thing in his life and hoped to influence Celine to think the same. The word “matters” describes that family has a significance and importance in one's life and that is what lesson that Celines grandfather was trying to teach her.
