In the 1960’s African Americans began to rebel against the government. Some African Americans believed that violent ways were the way to demand change, and some believed the opposite; peaceful protest can achieve change. Both ways, violent or peaceful, were efficient and effective in inspiring change. MLK believed that the way to inspire change was through peaceful protest, where no person got harmed. The Black Panther party believed that violence was the key to inspire change. MLK clearly states in his speech that in the process of achieve change African Americans should not be guilty of wrongful deeds, and should not distrust all white people because some of the white brothers have realized that freedom is for everyone.
