In the introduction section, there seems to be three main points including, the accomplishment and downfalls of bush presidency, how bush lied to the nation about “no new taxes”, Bill Clintons run at presidency in 1992-1998. George H.W. Bush was a Republican candidate from Maine who was elected president from 1989-1993 and promised that there was not going to be any new taxes but it ended up being a lie because he didn’t know how bad the budget deficit was. Bush’s accomplishments were: foreign affairs and in 1991, when the U.S. military bombed Iraqi and helped Kuwait defeat them. Bush and what occurred during President Bush run as president. In the election of 2000, Gore and Bush were running against each other and whoever won the electoral vote in Florida would win the presidency. I never knew that Bush had another name which was Dubya. I wonder why they call him that. Is this a regular nickname or does this mean something ? Republican Secretary of State, Katherine Harris, was the reason that Bush won the election but Gore wasn’t giving up without a fight. He and the Democrats sued and sent the case to the Florida Supreme Court but it was overturned and Bush became president. During Bush presidency, nine-eleven was a tragic attack on the Americans by Osama Bin Laden and Al Qaeda. In 2003, Bush ran for re-election and won again. Some more tragic incident was Hurricane Katrina that hit New Orleans and Mississippi Gulf Coast in 2005, the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan seemed like it was never going to end, rise of gasoline in 2007, and in 2008, real estate went down. Bush went through so much in his presidency that he was happy to step down. In the election of 2008 our first black president was elected and his name is Barack Obama. This election really caught my attention and I knew a lot before reading
