I believe people should know what the ingredients are in their medicine. Secondly, I thought that it was interesting how each family has at least one shrine. It is a place that is secret and private for the family to talk and not have anyone know what he or she are talking about or where to find them. I think that this would be a neat feature to have in houses.
I found it disturbing that the “mothers are particularly suspected to put curses on their children while teaching them secret body rituals” (page 80). To me this does not sound normal why someone would want to curse his or her child. I think parents should want good this to happen to their child and want them to have a good life. I think that other cultures would find this odd and not what parents should want for their children.
I could not say that I would love to go to Nacirema on vacation. I work at a dentist and the holy-mouth-man thing with the hog hairs did not seem like something people should do to help with tooth decay. I also found some of their cultural beliefs odd but everyone has different opinions so maybe they would not be all bad. People who work at the dental company with me just did volunteer work in Guatemala to give them good dental care.
