Mr. Slick Substance Abuse Case Study

My clinical impressions about Mr. Slick’s drug addiction as a maladaptive neural plasticity with the drugs of choice. As reported by Mr. Slick has a long history of marijuana abuse, admits to trying other drugs, has control issues, anger problems and three Minor in Possession charges. These actions are beyond social or recreational use.
The psychological problem of Mr. Slick substance abuse is the result of inhibited ability to make meaningful and self-directed choices. As a consequence of these inability’s, Mr. Slick lacks the will power to have a life free of drugs, stimulating him to relapse and take no responsibility for his actions, placing him on probation for his imprecated behaviors (American Society of Addiction Medicine, 2011).
