Not only does the statistics prove that there is a positive learning outcome, but students and parents themselves agree to Tutor.com being helpful and recommends it. But because this study shows that the tutoring is online based, some find that tutoring services and programs are only useful and effective if students are aware of their tutor’s clear role. And if it’s online based, students can’t really tell that. In response to that, “participants considered that tutor to be effective should have both expertise; content and process” (AlHaqwi, 2014). Students indicate that knowing their tutor’s roles helps them develop their skills and knowledge. It seems like the tutoring programs are successful but they are missing one or two components. It also seems like a paid, private tutor is more effective than a free program tutor. But I don’t think it is necessary to have paid tutors come work and get paid by parents to tutor students. I think we can just incorporate the role and commitment/determination (as a paid tutor have) into the free programs. For example, Murray has that one-on-one, on demand tutor help. Even though the coordinator seems to be strict with her schedule and work, the students come to class with homework that they need on. And on days where there are enough tutors, which is most of the time, each student gets their own tutor instead of one tutor with two students. I think that’s what helps. I also think that the reason why they seem to not care and are not productive is because of the way the class is set. With my observations, when students do things do work that they want to, she kind of makes them change to do the work that should be completed. And it seems to me that the students seem to be slightly peeved about this but still follows her orders. I think if there was a change of the class setting, the students would be more productive and motivated to do things. I think if it has more a “free” environment, they would like it more
