Borochoff recognizes that the people of Mursi are one of the last remaining tribes to still wear traditional dresses and accessories (Borochoff, 2015). Different accessories are popular in the tribe. Rituals and religion play a part in involvement of accessories. Jewelry is worn most by the women of the tribe, yet some men wear bracelets of different animal tusk. Bracelets are worn by young girls and older women. The bracelets are often made by using metals and are very heavy. The bracelets are in the shape of a “m” which is called siggi (Turton, 2005). Smaller bracelets are worn on the wrist and bigger ones are worn around the ankle. Bracelets are used in battle and self-defense (Turton, 2005). Young boys will sometimes wear bracelets of wood. They are made by using dry plants, animal skulls, clay, and wood. Mursi people get creative when making their headdress. They often use colorful items such as fruit, and flowers (Figure 4). They find items in their natural surroundings to use for their headdress. Headdress are worn during ceremonies, such as weddings and funerals. During funeral they will often place a headdress on the body depending on the ranking of the person who died. Each headdress is unique and different from each other. No more than two headdresses are made the same. Headdress can often take up to 2 days to make. They believe that headdress can serve as a protection and worn off evil
