The Musculoskeletal System! What system is that to be exact. Well to my knowledge without any reading, this is a combining body system consisting of the muscles and bones. According to PT Direct Anatomy and Physiology the musculoskeletal system is the combination of the muscular and skeletal systems working together to provide form, support, stability, and movement to the body. It is also referred to as the Locomotor System. Just like any other body system in the body, diseases can also occur here. Those such as: Arthritis, Osteoporosis, Osteomalacia, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Tendonitis, Muscular Dystrophy are just some of the diseases of the Locomotor System.

Being that i have a family member suffering from one of these, Arthritis is the disease i choose to talk about. From the root Arthr (which is a joint) and itis( which means inflammation) this disease is basically where you have an inflamed (swollen) joint muscle. According to Des Moines University our joint tissue becomes less resilient to wear and tear and start to degenerate causing swelling, pain and oftentimes loss of mobility of joints as we age. One is Dysplasia and the other is Kneecap Fracture. Dysplasia occurs when the patella does not fit properly in the groove of the femur, and because of this when the knee moves, there are increased stresses on the cartilage and that begins to wear down the cartilage.
