Music Critique Today, March 29th, I went to the matinee performance of Texas State Presents: Gianni Schicchi at the University Performing Arts and Conference Center. This was my first time ever being to an opera and let me say, it was honestly a lot to take in. I usually enjoy going to musicals and other theatre productions, however I was not aware that for an opera people are singing the entire time. Although it was the singing was done very well and the performances were pretty good, the constant singing made it harder to follow the story in my opinion. Nonetheless, the show is about a family mourning over the loss of a deceased relative; rather, they’re mostly interested in his last will and testament and the distribution of his possessions.
