He was pretty good and had some skills so he had a chance at getting on base off this pitcher. On the first pitch of the at bat, Connor drives the ball way over the left fielder's head and hits the fence on the fly. It was probably a foot away from being a home run. He was able to jog into second with a stand up double. Now up was Jack Elmore, my best friend. He was really quick so if he was able to lay down a good bunt he would probably beat it it. Jack looked over at coach and that was the sign he was giving him, a bunt. The pitch lifts his leg and Jack squared around into the bunt position. He laid down a perfect bunt on the third base line. Jack was already at first when the third basemen got the ball and Connor was able to make it to third base. There was a man on third and first and there was only one out. All I needed to do was hit a fly ball into the outfield so that Connor could come into score so that the game would be tied. The first two pitches were balls that were hitting the dirt before it even reached the plate. The pitcher was very frustrated and was just throwing the ball as hard as he could. The next pitch he threw it right down the middle because he was just trying to throw a strike and I swung at it just trying to get it into the outfield to be a sacrifice fly. It sure did go into the outfield. and it went way over the center fielder's head and I thought it was going to be a home run. It hit the fence on a one hopper. Connor was in at home easily and Jack was rounding second. The center fielder got the ball and threw it into the shortstop as Jack was rounding third. It was going to be such a close play I didn’t know if he was going to be safe or not. Jack, running faster then he has ever run before, slide into second as the ball was in the catcher's mitt. The whole field was silent, waiting for the umpire's call. The umpire waved his arms and yelled “SAFE”. The crowd went wild yelling NICK!
