My Dearest Viola,

It’s your friend Olivia, I will be arriving in Illyria soon for yours and the Duke Orsino’s wedding. It’s a long journey but worth it to be able to see you again after all this time my dear friend. My heart truly goes out to you for all you’ve been through. When I received the news your boat had sunk I was completely devastated. I couldn’t imagine losing a friend as close as you. Knowing you’re alright and soon to be happily married brings even more joy into my heart.

You are so clever and full of wit to be able to devise such a plan in order to fend for yourself by disguising as an eunuch and serve the duke. It seems as though no one suspected a thing or ever questioned your disguise. Though maybe you should have revealed who you were earlier on, this could have stopped conflicts with Sir Andrew wanting to duel you and Olivia falling in love with you but overall I respect and understand your decision of staying hidden. It’s so hard for me to imagine you in a disguised under a different name like Cesario. I’m sure I would have recognized you right away if I were there.

I would find myself sickened listening to then repeating his ballads of love to the Lady Olivia. I too pity her as you mentioned you did, her having lost her poor brother and father, it’s truly tragic. I’m sure you must have sympathised with her too thinking you had just lost your own brother. I’m so relieved as I’m sure you were too to find your brother was ok and look forward to seeing him as
