My Great Grandma has shown me her leadership by owning and managing an apartment complex. At age eighty-nine she still has the leadership and courage to run the complex. Running the complex involves meeting with new tenants, cleaning and remodeling apartments, and everything in between. I have shown my leadership through my athletics and through my academics. I have been the captain of my team for three years, which requires me to relay information to the rest of the team, hold nonmandatory practices, and keeping everyone focused while doing so is a hard task. She has shown her independance to me through being widowed for twenty-one years, not allowing people to do tasks for her, and living on her own for those twenty-one years of being widowed. I have shown my independance by being able to do many tasks alone and not needing assistance, driving myself to and from skill center and my home school. Being able to handle tasks alone shows my independance because I can think and handle the task at hand by myself and not needing help from others. My driving privilege shows my independence and responsibility by arriving to and from school on time to make it to my next class so I can get the most from the education offered to me.
