Bruce Alton Evans, my grandfather, was the most important person in my life. He inspired me to do many things in my life. He made me realize many things about how one should make it through life happy. Bruce Alton Evans is my hero. When I was young my dream was to play Major League Baseball, everyone always told me that I would never make it that far. However my grandfather always told me that I have what it takes to play at that level as long as I work my butt off to make it that far. He showed me the game of baseball and has taught just about everything I know about the game today. If it wasn’t for him I wouldn’t have the confidence to keep going with my dream. Growing up my father was an alcoholic and didn’t spend much time with my brothers and I. My grandfather was my father figure. He was the man that taught me how to fish, hunt and most importantly he would always tell me and teach me how to become a real man. We would have long conversations about how I can change my ways to become the man that ever girl wants to have in their life. He used tell me this one quote all the time “You’re not who you come form you’re who u choose to become”. To me this meant I didn’t have to fallow in my dad’s footsteps I could become who I choose to be. Bruce Alton Evans died on June, 14, 2011. He will always be in my heart and be on the baseball diamond with me every time I step onto that field. The day he died was the
