For my mindful awareness reflection this week I decided to get a much needed massage that was centered around relaxation. My massage was at the Chrysalis hotel and spa in Bellingham, WA. As I walk into the hotel and spa a female hostess greeted me and ushered me to where I could change. I was told to spend a little time in the eucalyptus steam room and then change into a robe they had waiting for me. The ambiance was nice and warm feeling with waterfall artwork and soothing music playing. Once I had changed they showed me where to relax until my massage was to start. I signed up for a sixty-minutes Swedish massage. As I get ready to go into the room the masseuse gave me some options for oils she could use. I chose one that smelled of warm mint called breath. Seemed like the perfect choice, as breathing is a large part of meditation and yoga practice. As I am lying on the table the room’s lights were dimmed down low. The masseuse put the oil in her hands and while I am lying on my stomach she puts her hands below my face and tells me to breath in deeply a few times. From that point forward my body started to relax. As I am lying there getting my massage I could feel stress leaving my body. The masseuse helped guide my breathing as that was the most difficult part. I was tense at the start of the massage, but it did not take long to relax and somewhat fall asleep during this time. I had only had one massage in the past, but nothing like this place. The soothing sounds and the ambiance is what set the mood for my relaxation. After the massage was done I felt like I could do anything,
