My Reaction of the Video Ning Cai Dance 38A Jan 25, 2012 We have appreciated the video about dance in the class. I got a lot of information on dance through the video. When I saw that the dance moved his/her body with music rhythmically, I seem like to know what is dance. Dance is art form that generally refer to movement of the body, usually rhythmic and to music, to be a natural expression of the human condition and the human spirit. A dance may be a solo, duet, small group, or cast of hundreds. The dance move circle or line. I have known a variety of dance in some countries through the video. Dance has been an important part of ceremony, rituals, celebrations and entertainment. I know dance of functions are entertainment, social ,religious and health. In Japan, the origin of the Mai can be traced back to as far as the thirteenth century. Noh Mai is a dance that is done to music that is made by flutes and small hand drums. Forms are patterns of body movements that are done elegantly and with beauty. Noh Mai dances are put together by a series of forms. Dance is no longer just a hobby; it is also one of the most lucrative professions as well. Besides, dance therapy is very much in vogue these days simply because the experience of dancing helps a person to heal from within.
