In this book, Nadia Comaneci describes her own life and her journey as a gymnast. Comaneci says that she was born in Romania on November 12, 1961 to her parents Gheorghe and Stefania Comaneci. Nadia started her gymnastics career at the Flame. She said that she didn’t do gymnastics because she wanted to be rich and famous, she did it because she loved it and she wanted to make people proud of her personal accomplishments. One day, Bela Karolyi visited Nadia’s school to recruit girls for the new gym he was opening called Onesti. After seeing Nadia’s cartwheel, he knew she was just the person he was looking for.
