This was because of the constant warfare and terrorism caused by European settlers. When she got older she got married and had two kids. But there was a battle of Creeks and Cherokee. During the battle her husband was wounded, she took his place in the war.
She lead the Cherokees to victory. Because of that her clan chose her as the “Beloved Woman.” To the Cherokees this name meant that a great spirit could be spoken through the Beloved Woman.
