It was never supposed to end like this. Today was supposed to be one of the best nights of my life. Thoughts of what went wrong in my head filter out, like a dog seeing a squirrel. Then this morning replayed in my head. I remembered it was October 30th. Naperville, the small town I live in, was having a Halloween dance at the high school. I was going to go as Sleeping Beauty. After a nice long bubble bath I went to go pick up my costume. Since Naperville is so small I had to drive 20 minutes to Pokana to buy it. Pokana is a very strange town where real witches and goblins were all over. As I went into the store, a wizard came out. His name was Bailey, Naperville’s wizard that everyone knew. The person replied “sorry, I can help fix your costume.”
In disbelief I had turned around. Bailey was the one who had pushed me. He kept saying he could fix the costume; not once did say he could buy a new one. “If you come back to my layer I can make you a new costume using my magic,” Bailey said convincingly.
At the time I thought it was a good idea because he owed me a new costume. Looking back at my decision now it was the worst thing I could have done, but I am paying for it now. When we had gotten to his layer he asked if I wanted anything to drink. Stupidly I said yes. Bailey had come back with a green drink. He called it a seaweed smoothie. The drink was finished within minutes, it was delicious. I could not remember what happened after, but when I woke up I was lying in a bed. Unable to talk. Unable to move. Only my thoughts, brain, and me. Everything was blurry. Bailey was sitting to my left laughing at what appeared like a human and dog.
