Her heartbeat thumps erratically like a drum as her board started jerking around under her on the slick ice. Ahead of her, she could see her brother, sister, and father race down the patches of ice and slushy snow without worry. She murmured to herself, “It's only ice. You'll be fine.” As she cut across the trail her sharp board grated against the most gritty and slippery ice she had ever encountered. Within a matter of seconds her board jumped from under her and she slammed down onto the ice with a brute force. She could feel a deep pain spreading through her right hip as it started burning. Is she going to be out soon?” Questioned her mother.
“Yes, they should be bringing her out anytime now. Thank you for all of your patience.”
“No problem at all!” Everyone seemed a little more relaxed but still on edge. Her recovery would be tough but they would all help her get through it. Right then came in a few nurses with Brooke who was still asleep. She woke up with a noticeably less amount of pain. She was feeling better already.
A few weeks passed and she was still at bed rest. Her scar was still intense but it held a large memory to it, even if though it was an unpleasent one. She was starting physical therapy soon which would last nine months to get her back to where she was before. Some days she could feel slight paralysis in her hip and knee but everything was getting better. Everyone was happier for her and felt better knowing she was going to be fine. It was an absolute miracle that she was going to be able to walk again. The whole hospital stay was pretty ugly with constant shots, medicine, and crying. The downside to everything was that she wasn't sure if she'd ever be back boarding again after this. In the end, she would be fine and feel so much
