I knew that they could hit home runs, and I couldn’t wait to get a hold of one. I kept telling myself, I’m going to rob a home run…I’m going to rob a home run. Throughout the entire game I couldn’t stop thinking about catching someone’s home run. As I stood in the outfield prepared for any circumstance, my friend, Taylor Brock, came up to bat, and she finally hit a deep fly ball that soared through the air like a beach ball coming in my direction. I began to sprint with excitement to catch the ball. I noticed that I was a few feet from the fence, then only a few inches away from the fence. I realized that the ball was going to go over. I couldn’t believe it! Leaping into the air with my arm fully extended above the fence I squeezed the bright yellow ball in my glove. I came back down to the ground with extreme excitement. I couldn’t believe it! I had just robbed my first home run. The massive crowd was screaming and hollering with amazement. My mind was going crazy. I had actually done it! As adrenaline ran through my body, it was the most incredible feeling I had ever experienced playing softball.
