On Monday, October 16th, was our health fair meeting, I was so excited to start finalizing plans, flyers, and forms for the health fair. During our meeting we went over the different options for the flyer and decided on one as a group. We also discussed decorations for both the display case and the venue. Next we reviewed the registration letter and form, and received approval on both. We also had a discussion on where the event would take place. Unfortunately the health fair will not take place at the Art and Sciences building, the committee that over sees the building stated that the space isn’t equip for the health fair. I’ll be reviewing previous evaluation form, to discuss what the community liked about the health fair and what didn’t work.
On Wednesday, October 18th Ivy tech was having their health fair, Vicky, Alex and I attended. I must say I was confused at first on exactly where the event was going to take place, for I saw no signs indicating where or if there was a health fair. I’ll bring this issue up for our next meeting, to make sure we have adequate amounts of signs around campus. I don’t want people who are attending our health fair to be confused about where the event is taking place. Once I found my way in, a women at the entrance was had a sign in sheet and raffle tickets. Ivy Tech’s theme was “Boardwalk to a Better Health”. Their space was decorated with monopoly pieces which was a nice touch. The room was very well decorated and the booths have ample space between them. Vicky and I walked around together going to each booth collecting information and interacting with each organization. They had organizations from insurance companies, such as Anthem, student life was there, and a foster care organization among a few
