The book is titled The Cellar, and it automatically makes me think of a dark, damp cage underground where someone is held captive and tortured for someone else's amusement. This sparked my interest because all I did was read the title and my head started spinning with possibilities of who was taken, why were they taken, and will they make it out alive and sane. Normally I don't start thinking about what the book is really about until I read the back and get more information on the main character and the main idea. Since questions started running through my head just after reading the title I decided it would be a good book for me to read and do a report on.

So all we know about them is what there life was like in there in fact you only later find out Poppies name because she is the only other one to make it out alive and well. You have Summers family so her mom who doesn't sleep and starts to drink a little too much and just wants her daughter home. Then you have her dad who organized the search and goes out everyday to find his little girl but kind of starts to give up hope on finding her as the 7 months go by. Last you have her brother Henry they had the normal bickering sibling relationship and he also goes out everyday to look for her with his best friend Lewis. Just like his dad Henry starts to think she's dead and that there never going to find her, but Lewis refuses to believe that and help convinces Henry that she is out there somewhere alive and waiting for them to come and find …show more content…
The girls tell her whats going on and about all his rules and little by little she starts to learn how to separate the person she used to be from Lily the who all of the terrible things are happening to.
In Colin/Clovers it goes into his background but still talks about Summer the girl who was taken. He does many things to try and throw people off his tail like join the search for Summer. Who he of course calls lily and believe she is better of with him and his” family.” Which is the other girls he took.
For Lewis the whole thing revolves around Summer and how she is missing and desperately wanting to find her and save her from whoever has her. Lewis does not think about anything but Summer and finding her and bring her home.
