Dr Nathaniel Podilsky
For the last 34 years, Dr Nathaniel Podilsky has served the people Edmonton, Alberta with his skills in Dentistry. His practice focuses on implants, smile design, and Orthodontic treatment. Dr Nat became a dentist in 1982. He graduated from Saskatchewan University and went ahead to open his practice in downtown Edmonton in Canada.
Dr Podilsky’s Smile Design program involves both the white part of the smile (teeth) and the pink aesthetics (gums). It is focused on gum architecture, proportion and relation of the teeth to one another, color and shape of the teeth and the length of the teeth. He says the majority of the time when replacing teeth, he tries to be conservative. Veneers are more conservative than full crowns. For that reason, whenever possible, Dr Nathaniel prefers to do veneers in the front rather than fit many crowns.
There are instances when Dr Nat might decide to fit crown rather than veneers. These include replacing an existing crown, if the tooth has a weak root canal and if there is no enough enamel around the tooth for bonding because of acid erosion. Dr Nat says the reason they prefer veneers to crowns is because today people are living longer; up to eighty and ninety years, thus they would want to be as conservative as possible.
