I chose to do the group called National Honor Society, I chose this because they are involved in the well-being of children and the community. I interviewed two of my friends from high school that are seniors in high school. This is their third year in NHS and has been involved in many things in the community. Their names are Mariah Terhark and Ashely DeBoer. I chose them because they know a lot about NHS and how it works. They have had experience helping children and their families. I learned many things about National Honor Society and how is works with children and the community. There are about 20 members in National Honor Society and they all take turns babysitting or watching kids from every age. Each week two of them watch the kids either in their house or at school wherever they prefer. This is a way to help parents out financially so they don’t have to pay for daycare. There are so many kids that go here because it’s a great program. The High schoolers love to be here and help the people that need help. Most of the time they go to the community gym so they can play, run around, and interact with other children. It’s great for the community because everything is free, everything was donated to things people didn’t need. When the National Honor Society is watching the kids they make sure there going home with their parent and not someone they shouldn’t go with. They make sure they watch for the safety of each child. They are not only there to watch the child but to interact, play, and have fun with them. I think it’s so great that they have the national honors society in my community and I think that other communities should do this
