Since I was in 6th grade, I have been looking forward to joining the National Junior Honor Society. I used to see all the 7th and 8th graders who were part of NJHS going on field trips and working to help those in need. “I want to help people and be a member of NJHS” I used to say to myself, and now, I am being requested for it. So, as you may realise, this is an unbelievable experience. I want to join NJHS because of several reasons, and one of them is that I want to offer my help to people in need. Since I was little, I enjoyed helping those in need. I consider myself a very compassionate and sympathetic student. Going to Escuela Rayito de Sol and playing with the kids is an example of charity or community work I have done to help others. In 6th grade, I enlisted in Service Club. Every year, my family and I look through the things we don’t use any longer and see if we can donate anything. When we find something we can give away, we put it in a bag and hand it to the lady who works at our house. She then takes it to her town and gives it to the people who need any of those things. I love donating things because I give supplies I don’t use anymore to people who might be desperately in need of them.
I believe I will be an effective NJHS leader because I show amazing leadership skills, have outstanding grades and behaviour, have a desire to render service, and demonstrate enthusiasm for learning. I show leadership skills in and out of school. An example of a leadership position I took was during a reading session I had with second-grade students. During this reading session, I had to read to two second grade students and encourage them to enjoy reading. I read them two books and asked them various questions at the end. I felt I had total control over the situation and noticed that I was great at handling
