The Navajo people were a group of Native Americans that thrived Arizona, Utah, and New Mexico. They were the largest tribe of Native Americans so they stretched out over 27,000 square miles and had an estimated 300,000 tribe members living on it. The places the Navajos lived were know to have extremely cold winters and very hot summers, but they liked to travel so it depended on where they were at the time. They were farming people so they lived off of corn, beans, antelope, deer, small game and eventually raise and ate sheep and goats after the Spanish showed them how to raise them. The men hunted and provided for their families. They have their own government that was run by the chief and powerful men. Their government was very similar to the government we have in modern day America. Navajo Nation History stated that,“ The Navajo Nation government in action as the 88 Council delegates (representing 110 Navajo Nation chapters, or communities) discuss critical issues and enact legislation to determine the future of the Navajo people”. Along with this they had three branches;executive,legislative and judicial. They were said to talk in “code talker” a lot during this meeting. Code talkers first came about in the early 40’s to translate and communicate during war and the newborn language stuck and it used by women and men of the Navajo people
