NCFR’S Mission, Purpose, and Goals:
The National Council on Family Relations focuses on educating people on family life. They are responsible for awarding people with the Certified family life education certification. The NCFR main purpose is to promote family life education with a platform for those with their certification to share their knowledge about families. The NCFR is a program for teachers, educators, and family researchers to express the importance of family and education. The goal of the NCFR is for families to be able to learn from those with their CFLE certification and incorporate it into their families. The NCFR provides families with information on methods and programs to improve and be effective for their family.

The first level is a provisional certification. This is for people who are not fully qualified but have the heart and knowledge about family life. They lack work experience hours in the field of family life but are aware of the importance. For example, they know about the 10 content areas of family life. These areas are Family in Societal Contexts, Dynamics of Families, Human Development, Sexuality, Interpersonal Relationships, Family Resource Management, Parent Education and Guidance, Family Law and Public Policy, Professional Ethics and Practice, and Family Life Education Methodology. To sum up the provisional level of certification, these are the people who are qualified in all important areas of content, but lack enough experience in the field. The second level is the full certification. These are the people who are qualified in all the areas listed above and can provide enough experience working with family
