Prior evidence stated before has shown, juvenile detention centers have a negative effect of troubled teens. Now, there are a few beneficial centers, known as probation supervision, that do indeed improve a teen's life. The Diversion Male Court (DMC), which is a probation supervision court, teaches teens fundamentals of life, as well as enforce strict rules. One judge at the DMC, George Ashford, claims that instead of punishing the teens, they teach "life lessons about accountability, respect, responsibility and empathy." Furthermore they turn students' lives around, an instance being Mario Love, a juvenile officer, signing up a 17-year old teenager who recently became a father, for parenting classes.
