In general, I would say that Napoleon Bonaparte’s impact on France was a negative one. Two of the main negative effects he had on France included; causing people inside of his own country to be silenced and he turned the majority of European nations against his home country. On page 586 in the 5th paragraph the text clearly illustrates Napoleon’s aggressive tactics at silencing the opposition saying, “He employed secret police. He stamped out the royalist rebellion in the west and made the rule of Paris effective in Brittany and the Vendee for the first time in years.” This quote outlines how Napoleon was able to stop anyone he wanted from having any opposing views or anyone trying to test his power.
