I am applying for assistance for the Nehemiah Gateway Community Development Corporation program. The Nehemiah Gateway Community Development Corporation is a “501(c)3 non-profit organization whose mission is to provide access to financial education and services for low-to-moderate income individuals. Incorporated in 2000, the organization offers a variety of programs focused on increasing the financial well-being of its customers through engaging them in strategies for asset development, financial management and successful employment” (Nehemiah Gateway, 2015).
Statement of Need: Many low to moderate-income individuals and families in Delaware cannot afford to pay the cost to prepare their taxes. They are also unaware of how to manage their finances. As a result, many are struggling to pay their monthly bills, buy food and meet healthcare cost. Many are also living with other relatives because they can no longer afford to reside on their own.
