As I read Nemecia, I focused on the way Maria would describe her cousins behavior. Something specifically that I found interesting was that Maria was so intrigued into finding out why her cousin had such an odd behavior but surprisingly enough she knew almost every single detail of her. Maria mentioned that Nemecia would steal food at night although she did not know why she thought it was disgusting due to the fact that she would eat so much. Throughout the story I notice that Nemecias behavior changes with Maria on a day to day basis. One day she's protecting her and telling her stories while the next she is scratching her face which causes Maria to have a scar on her face.
