NetHack- a game with a deep design of strategies and logic
NetHack is a well-known roguelike game which was initially designed by DevTeam and released by Mike Stephenson in July 1987. As the name “NetHack”, it is the descendent of a game called “Hack”, which is released 2 years before NetHack was born. Similar to Wikipedia, NetHack is an open source software(OSS) that any volunteer has right to add elements, changes and distribute the game; editing and fixing of the game happen at anytime. Often, roguelike games are randomly generated game levels. Permanent death, which players cannot continue after a death, high fantasy story and ASCII, which each symbol or letter represent an action or an object, are also applied in the games. You have gained enough experiences and logics to defeat the monsters in this level. The biggest success that you pass in the Gehennom, is understanding the danger of the world and solve it. However, you eventually find out yourself being powerless in front of the natures- Death, Famine(hunger) and Pestilence(disease). Many times you would almost fail to resist the natures. Your intelligence and luck would be the only two things to rescue you. Face to the natures, worried, excitement and moodiness will kill you easily. Think over your current situation, then decide what to do in the next step. Suffering in nature is normal enough that you may notice it is unpreventable. Therefore, take your time and think deeply before an action, because you will have much time between turns in both the game and reality. Praying and helping the Angels are also good ways to survive from the natures. However, need helps from the humans: Priests and Adventurers, you should always have equivalent values to ask for assistance to defeat the monsters and natures.
