Neveah is not only a placement for us, she is our great niece who than became our daughter as she began to call us mommy and daddy. We have been the only consistant people in her short life as we have been present since she was 4 weeks old. In the 22 months that Neveah has been in our custody we priotized all her needs from dr visits, being there for her when she became ill and her developmental milestones. We have been sensitive to her emotional health as we understand the long term effects on children that have constant disruption in their life. We provided a secure and stable…show more content… It was recommended to her that she go into a inpaitent psychiatric unit however she failed to do so. Since this episoides she has not seek treatment which has caused her to self medicate through substance abuse as reported from her maternal grandmother. Her recent implusive action to add Derek Tilley to the birth certificate which could have casue long term emotional damage to Nevaeh. Brittany’s current involvement is soley due to our petition for dependency. As noted in the petition for revocation was done soley by Derek Tilley. In the 22 months that Nevaeh has been with us reunification attempts were made by us up to June 2017. Brittany did not attempt to visit nor send any letter or cards for Nevaeh’s birthday or holidays. In the months of Brittany’s disappearance, we attempted to reconnect Brittany with Neveah, Brittany responded to few texts by mentioning she was avoiding people due to being depressed.
Brittany reported that she understands that she is not ready to care for Nevaeh due to not being stable. She is currently traveling from Los Angeles to
