These people are labeled through many things; authors, creators, writers, etc. Occasionally, these author's data overlap, and convey the same theme, story, or event. Two particular creator’s, Elie Wiesel and David Olere, experienced an event indistinguishable during the World War II time period. They were both victims of the unjust operations of Hitler and his followers, and they wanted to dispense their experiences in the best way they could, through books and artwork. In the excerpt, the phrase “Never shall I forget” is said consistently throughout, which sparks various meanings in which two will be spoken of. “Never shall I forget” is about telling the world to never forget about what happened during the Holocaust. It is a warning that screams out, “Don’t let this happen again!” because this time period was horrid, in many more ways than one. When society forgets what others did in the past, society is doomed to repeat them! Though it may seem absurd to speak of a similar situation as the Holocaust in the future, it is not impossible! Thousands of people's lives in the future will be helped through not repeating the disastrous steps that led to World War II. In addition to the anaphora “Never shall I forget” is followed by such as “Never shall I forget the smoke. Never shall I forget the small faces of the children whose bodies I saw transformed into smoke”(4-8). This could mean that we are not only remembering to never do this again, but also remembering the people who were affected by the catastrophe. Remembering those who have died helps them live in the minds of their family, friends, and in the essence of time itself. The hardships that they faced won’t be forgotten, but remembered respectfully like the way it should
