The New England Patriots have made it to the super bowl eight times. Of those, they have won four and lost four. Last year, they went to the forty-ninth super bowl additionally, for the past few years they have won almost all of their games. The patriots are an NFL Football team. They are one of the best teams in the NFL.
The person who created the NFL patriots team was William H. “Billy” Sullivan, Jr., he was the leader of a small group of local businessmen who helped him create the team. They awarded the eighth franchise in the new American Football League which was the final franchise in the NFL. In 1985, their record was 11-5 so they went to the playoffs and won all their games. They went to the super bowl against the Chicago Bears and they were 15-1. The Patriots caused a fumble in the first minute then got a field goal but after that everything went downhill and the final score was 46-10. In 2001, the Patriots won the super bowl against the St. Louis Rams and in the first quarter the Rams kicked a field goal. Then in the second quarter the Patriots scored two touchdowns before the half. During the third quarter the Patriots scored a field goal putting them up 17-3. The Rams scored two touchdowns in the fourth quarter so the game was all tied up. The Patriots had 1:30 on the clock so Tom Brady marched the team down the field and they were able to set up for a 48 yard field goal in the last few second and they ended up winning the game. In 2014, the Patriots versed the Seattle Seahawks in Arizona. They tied the game at halftime 14-14. In the third quarter the Seahawks scored a touchdown and kicked a field goal making the score 24-14. Midway through the fourth the Patriots scored two touchdowns making the score 28-24. There was thirty seconds left on the clock and the Seahawks were on the Patriots one yard line but the coach called for a pass over the middle and Malcolm Butler on the Patriots caught the ball which let the Patriots win their fourth super bowl.
