The New Jersey v. TLO case happened in 1985. The case was about a student from New Jersey High School when two girl were caught smoking in the girls bathroom. One girl admitted to smoking while the other, known as TLO denied it. This made an assistant principle search the contents of the girls purse. When the vice principle searched the girls purse she found marijuana and other items that suggesting the student sold it as well. T.L.O was then taken to the police department where she then confessed to selling marajuana. The state of New Jersey then brought up charges against her.
