New Member Education- (specifically PMA) I am specifically interested in New Member Education’s PMA position. While pledging last semester, I got to see the New Member Education process in action. I experienced it first-hand just like everyone else. I know that I have little experience in the chapter, but I do have the experience that matters the most. I went through the pledging process and became a different person as a result. I learned how important it is to be there for others. Everyone needs help at some point or another, and I learned how to help others and ask for help when I need it myself. I learned how to take charge of certain situations to make sure stuff gets done while still being respectful and helpful to others. I may not …show more content…
I know the value of academics and how large of an impact that it can have on one’s future. I have always been school oriented and have maintained good grades throughout all of high school and my first semester of college. I am also in the Honors College at Wayne State and consistently strive to go above and beyond what is generally expected of students. I know that I don’t have the most experience, but I’m willing to ask for help or advice when I need it. I am very driven and goal oriented. Throughout middle school and high school, I have done a variety of community service and volunteering. I know how important it is to give back to the community. I am also driven and determined to plan various community service events in a timely manner. I know that I can complete these responsibilities and I am willing to ask for help when I need it too. I know that I do not have much experience with planning events, but I am willing and ready to learn how to do it. As a Community Service head or member, I would work diligently to plan various community service events to help give back to the community. Some of the ideas that I have for community service events revolve around group volunteering at a local foodbank or soup kitchen in Detroit. I am also willing to look for other volunteering opportunities for the chapter. I think that any hardworking and dedicated member deserves to be on this committee. The community service committee has the potential to plan a lot of amazing and beneficial events. I cannot wait to see what we can achieve through community
