Nebbia v. New York (1934)
Facts
In 1933, the New York legislature adopted a law which set minimum prices of milk to combat the effects of the Great Depression on the milk industry. Leo Nebbia, a grocer in Rochester, violated the law specifying the minimum price for the retail sale of milk. The New York Court of Appeals ruled against him, affirming his conviction. Nebbia appealed to the Supreme Court.
