Next Generation Air Transportation System, also known as NextGen, is the FAA-led transformation of our nation's aviation transport system. Its goal is to improve the safety, effectiveness, capacity, and resiliency of the United States aviation network. The NextGen system brings together several different innovative technologies, capabilities, and procedures that will improve our aviation system from departures to arrivals. As technology in today’s society continues to excel, NextGen will be there to lead the way, and be a part of our aviation routines and an important part of our flight plans.
The statistics for the future states there will be increased flights across our country and all over the world. The FAA has guaranteed to revolutionize the aviation network to meet the demands that lie ahead. With the implementation of NextGen, pilots all across our country will fly more efficient routes that will benefit the passengers, airlines, and our economy. NextGen will bring modernization of our airspace with radar base tracking and more accurate satellite monitoring of all the planes in our skies.
