Nicki Minaj was born Onika Miraj to Carol and Robert Miraj on December 8th 1982 in Saint James, Trinidad and Tobago. When she was 5 years old they moved to Queens New York, where her alcohol and drug abusive father burned their house down. She graduated from La Guardia High School of Music and Art, with a hope of becoming an actor. Minaj’s acting career wasn’t very successful. She later on pursued a career in the music industry.
