Nicolaus Copernicus came up with a radical way of looking at the universe. He was famous for formulating the heliocentric illustration of the universe. He was born in 1473 and died in 1543. His heliocentric system put the sun at the center of our solar system. He was not the first to think of the theory. Earlier starwatchers believed the same, but he used the movements of the planets to back up his idea. He was born in 1564 and died in 1642, and he was famous for being the “Father of Observational Astronomy”. Galileo had devised a telescope that could enlarge objects up to 20 times. He was able to use the telescope to prove Copernicus’s theory of heliocentrism also called the Copernican System. He published his observations which went against the teachings of his church. So, he was brought to trial and, although he made a confession of wrong doing, he was still under house arrest for the rest of his life. But it was too late to lock away the knowledge that Galileo shared because he had already written it all down for future scientists. Other scientists, including Sir Isaac Newton and Johannes Kepler, seized its importance and were able to learn even more about the ways of the world and the heavens
